2. When is the GPS active, and when does the shuttle go on break?

  • The GPS is active whenever the shuttles are actively running. If the shuttles are not running, or are on a break, they will be off of the system.
  • The DAYTIME CRYSTAL CAMPUS shuttle does not run between 10:30AM and 10:45AM, and between 1:30PM and 2:00PM daily. Apart from these two deviations, the consistent schedules can be viewed at the Escort Safety Schedule Webpage
  • If the shuttle is not currently active, it will not appear on the map website.
  • The shuttles run throughout the academic year, with the exception of Thanksgiving, February Break, Spring/Passover break, and semester recess.

3. How do I Access the GPS?

4. Is there a texting (SMS) service? How do I use it?

  • The texting service is able to send text (SMS) messages directly to your cell phone with the approximate shuttle arrival time.
  • Directions for using the Texting Service:
    1. Send a text message to 368-266 (which stands for the letters DOT-COM on the number pad) with the phrase BLIRPIT BRANDEIS
    2. If there are any bus routes active, the system will respond to you with a numbered list of the active shuttles
    3. Reply to the text message with the number of the shuttle which you want to access
    4. The system will text you back the list of major stops on the route, and the approximate time of arrival based on the history of the route.
    5. Repeat as necessary
    6. For most accurate location information, visit the shuttle.brandeis.edu webpage and view the immediate location of the shuttle.
