Troubleshooting: Enrollment Questions

Q: When I enter a term or subject value I get an error saying I am entering an Invalid Value. How do I find a valid value?

A: The Lookup icon located next to many fields will take you to a Lookup page for that field. Leaving fields blank, click the Lookup icon and then the Lookup button at the bottom of the page to display all appropriate values.

Q: What is an Attribute/Value?

A: An attribute/value pair encodes important information about a course, such as which department it is cross-listed in and which general University requirements the course satisfies. To see a full listing of attributes and their associated values, click here.

Q: I dropped classes but they are still appearing on my Schedule of Classes. Are dropped classes on my permanent record?

A: No, classes that are dropped during Early Registration and Add / Drop periods are not retained on your permanent record (transcript). Classes dropped during this time are maintained in the sage system for reference purposes only.

Q: I am trying to enroll into a class that requires consent. How do I enter in a permission/consent number?

A: To enter a permission number from the Add Classes page, click on the blue Subject/Catalog # hyperlink, for example, . This will open up the Class Enrollment Options page. In the Class Permission Nbr. field enter in the number. Press the button and then submit the enrollment request by pressing the button.

Q: What is the "OK to Waitlist" box in the Add Classes page? Does this mean that if a seat opens in the class and if I am on the waitlist I will be enrolled in the class?

A: The 'OK to Waitlist' box will appear for all classes where Waitlist, or rather Unaccommodated Demand Listing, is available. Once a class is closed students may choose to place themselves on the Waitlist. However, students will not be automatically moved into a class if a seat opens.

After the end of Early Registration, the instructors and departments review the Waitlist/Unaccommodated Demand list for closed classes to determine if additional seats or additional sections can be added. If it is determined that additional seats can be created, students will be moved from the waitlist into the class (if no time conflicts exist) by the Registrar's Office.

Q: The Class Status reads Closed but it appears seats are still available. Why has this section been closed?

A: The class is either closed because it did reach its enrollment capacity at some point during Early Registration, therefore causing the section to close and the Unaccomodated Demand list to begin, or the section has been temporarily closed by the Office of the University Registrar. If you would like to be on the Unaccomodated Demand list please select the "OK to Waitlist" option in the Add Classes page.
