Class Permission
If a class requires permission, you need to secure a permission number and enter it in sage.
You can find out if a class requires permission and who grants that permission by doing a class search and clicking View Detail to see the Class Notes section of the Class Search Detail page. [See Searching and Viewing the Schedule of Classes.]
If you try to enroll in a class without permission, sage displays an error message telling you that permission is required.
The links below connect to information on dealing with permission errors and entering permission numbers.
Class permission:
Class Permission Quick Start
- You can click on Errors found to find out what the error is.

Sage displays the Enrollment Request Messages page explaining that the class needs permission.
- Click Cancel to return to the Add Classes page.

When you exit the Enrollment Request Messages page, sage brings you back to the Add Classes page.
- To secure permission to enroll in a class, you must find out who grants the permission and ask that person for a permission number.

You can see who grants permission for your class in the Class Notes section of the Class Search Detail page. [See Searching and Viewing the Schedule of Classes for information on seeing class details.]
Note: A permission number is for a specific section of a class and expires at the end of the enrollment period.
- When you have secured the permission number, you must add the class to your schedule again.

At the Add Classes page, press Submit to get the Errors found message, then click on the Subject/Catalog# link. Sage displays the Class Enrollment Options page.
- Enter the permission number in the Class Permission Nbr: field and click Okay.

Sage displays the Add Classes page with Errors found still showing in the Add Status Column.
- Click Submit.

If you entered the permission number correctly, Sage displays the Add Classes page with Success in the Add Status column. You are now enrolled in the class.
When you submit a request to add a class that requires permission, sage displays Errors found in the Add Status column.
