Purpose:
Applied Marketing Science (AMS), a greater Boston market research company, is currently seeking several independent contract Research Assistants to work on a project related to computer hardware. Independent contractors will be trained to review technical articles and will work remotely under the direction of a small team at AMS. This project is expected to start within the next week and will continue intermittently through the end of October. Each independent contractor is expected to work roughly 10 hours in the first week of review, and possibly 30 hours a week thereafter. However, hours are flexible and you will be allowed to work remotely and on weekends if necessary after the initial training period. All candidates are required to take a short reading test in order to be considered for the temporary position.
*Please note that this is a temporary contract position, not an offer for employment.The contract may end at any time and for any reason including: performance evaluation, time constraints, project deadline changes, changes in scope of project.
Skills/Duties:
Key candidate requirements:
» Current college student or graduate
» Enrolled in a computer science or computer engineering program, OR general knowledge of computer hardware components (i.e. chipsets, processors, controls, etc.)
» Familiarity with reading computer related technical articles
» Strong reading and analytical skills
» Flexible schedule
» Ability to work independently or within a small team environment
» Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, and Adobe Reader
Hours/Wage Rate:
10-30 hours a week, $25 per hour
