Purpose:

Greater Boston PFLAG’s SAFE SCHOOLS & COMMUNITIES PROGRAM (10-12 hours/week)

The administrative assistant will have responsibility for assisting the Executive Director in administering programs. Assistance will include maintaining records, procuring supplies and services as directed, and providing other general assistance.

Skills and Duties:

Skills required: Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, excellent organizational skills, excellent phone manner, computer skills, self-starter, able to follow instructions and work independently, excellent research skills, a passion for social justice and LGBTQ rights. Website knowledge helpful.

1. Assist Director as required

Work closely with the executive director in planning and implementation of:

• Speaking engagements & faculty training
• Speaker training workshops
• Community events
• Mailings
• Outreach/PR to community organizations
• Assist with social media

Provide other assistance as needed.

2. Maintain records for project

• Maintain & update records on all completed speaking engagements
• Maintain & update records on all speakers
• Organize and file information


3. Maintain an adequate supply of materials

• Order supplies as needed
• Monitor need for additional supplies

4. Provide reports as needed

• Assist in the preparation of reports

Wage Rate:

$10/hour

Hours:

10-12 hours/week
