17-18 FAFSA Prior-Prior Year Changes

Oct. 17, 2016

For the 2017-2018 academic year, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will be available for filing beginning on October 1, 2016.  For the first time, applicants will use income from two years prior when reporting personal and family income.  As a result, on the 17–18 FAFSA, you will report your 2015 income and tax information.  This will allow you to more easily complete your financial aid application. If you are an institutional need-based aid applicant, you will report 2015 income and tax information on the FAFSA as well as the 17-18 CSS PROFILE. If you submitted your 2015 tax documentation for last year’s aid process, you will not need to submit it again. If we did not receive your 2015 tax documentation, you will need to submit it.

The deadline for all continuing students for financial aid reapplication is April 1, 2017.
