Holiday 2016-17 Office Closure FAQ

Our office will be closed from 5pm on Friday, December 23rd until 9 AM on Tuesday, January 3rd. We will be responding to e-mail periodically during this week, however, please refer to the following FAQs for financial aid and student account information that might help you with your question. Please note that you will not receive a response from our office if the answer to your question is listed below.
1. AS A PROSPECTIVE STUDENT, WHAT ARE THE SUBMISSION DEADLINES FOR MY FINANCIAL AID INFORMATION AND WHAT DOCUMENTS DO I NEED TO SUBMIT?
For Early Decision II and Regular Decision, the deadline to submit the FAFSA and CSS/Financial Aid profile is January 1, 2017.
You can view deadlines and document requirements on our Application Requirements and Deadlines page. Please upload required documents or information (other than the FAFSA, PROFILE and the Noncustodial PROFILE) we are requesting through the DEISConnect portal.
***Please note that we will be checking on submitted FAFSAs, CSS/Profiles, and documents while we are away. Please allow 3 business days for processing/receipt of any financial aid components. Since the application deadline is a holiday, application materials during the first week of January will still be considered to be on time.***
2. WHEN IS THE SPRING SEMESTER BILL DUE DATE?
The due date is Tuesday, January 3rd, 2017.
IF THE BALANCE IS NOT PAID IN FULL BY THE DUE DATE, A HOLD WILL BE PLACED ON THE STUDENT’S ACCOUNT. THE HOLD WILL BLOCK PARTICIPATION IN REGISTRATION WHICH OPENS JANUARY 9, 2017.
3. CAN I GET AN EXTENSION?
No extensions are granted.
4. WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM APPROVED FOR A LOAN WHILE THE OFFICE IS CLOSED?
We will certify and post any approved loans when the office reopens on January 3rd. If we post the loan on the bill due date, and the loan covers the full balance due, your account will be considered paid on time.
5. WHERE DO I SEND MY PAYMENT?
Mail checks with either the student’s name and sage id or the bill remittance slip to:

6. HOW DO I PAY BY WIRE?
All wires should go through Western Union Business Solutions using the link on our Brandeis.edu/sfs Payment Options page: https://student.globalpay.wu.com/geo-buyer/Brandeis
7. HOW DO I PAY BY CREDIT CARD OR E-CHECK?
Credit card and e-check payments can be made by logging into sage as a student or a proxy (proxy login is at https://sage.Brandeis.edu/proxy ) and using the links in the Finance section or by going directly to https://www.afford.com and selecting Make a Payment > Pay in Full.
8. HOW DO I ENROLL IN A PAYMENT PLAN?
You can set up a payment plan or make a payment plan payment by logging into sage as a student or a proxy (proxy login is at https://sage.Brandeis.edu/proxy ) and using the links in the Finance section or by going directly to www.afford.com and selecting "make a payment plan."
9. HOW DO I GET MY REFUND?
If you have a credit balance on your account, you should submit a Refund Request by logging into sage and selecting the Refund Request link in the Finance section. We will begin processing refunds on January 9, 2017 but it may take 7-10 days for processing.
Before we will process your refund:
You must be registered for at least 6 credits
All federal, institutional and private loans must be signed and funds received at the university
All private scholarship funds must be received
No refunds are issued on pending or anticipated financial aid
No refunds are issued on unpaid monthly payment plan credits
If any portion of the refund is the result of a Parent PLUS loan the parent must also send email authorization for the refund to SFS@Brandeis.edu

10. CAN I RECEIVE A CSS/PROFILE FEE WAIVER?
We do not offer a fee waiver for the CSS Profile. If you are eligible for a waiver based on the information you reported on the application, the College Board will automatically waive the fee. Alternatively, if you are an international student you are welcome to submit the International Financial Aid Application (ISFAA) in place of the CSS Profile.
