  • College transcripts from undergraduate and any graduate studies.
  • A score report from IELTS or the "Test of English as a Foreign Language" (TOEFL) must be submitted if English is NOT the candidate’s native language. However, if s/he has completed a university-level degree where English was the language of instruction, s/he may be exempted from the TOEFL after evaluation of relevant documentation demonstrating English proficiency.
  • A personal statement that discusses the candidate's reasons for applying for the M.A., their career objectives and their relevant experience.
  • An interview, either in person or by telephone, may be required for admission. Please contact Anne Gudaitis, Program Administrator, at gudaitis@brandeis.edu or at 781-736-8575 for more information on setting up interviews.
  • A U.S. $75.00 application fee made payable to Brandeis University. This fee is waived for applicants from developing countries by sending an email to Ralph Martinez at rmartinz@brandeis.edu.

Funding Sources

There are a limited number of scholarships available through the Coexistence and Conflict financial aid process and through Brandeis Financial Aid. Prospective students are also encouraged to simultaneously apply for funds from other funding sources. It can take up to a year to process financial support for graduate study, so students are encouraged to start applying for assistance as soon as possible.
