Shapiro Theater

tapIf the Carl J. Shapiro Campus Center is the campus living room, then the Shapiro Theater is the campus entertainment center. With at least five student theater productions a semester and countless special events, the Shapiro Theater is in constant use. It is the home of the Undergraduate Theater Collective), an umbrella group for five student-run theater clubs on campus.

In addition to the wonderful performances that takes place in the theater, many other cultural and academic events take place in the Shapiro Theater. From Lunar New Year, the celebration of the Chinese New Year, to neurology and biochemistry conferences, there is something for everyone in the Shapiro Theater.

The Shapiro Theater is a 249-seat, fully functional theater space with professional soundboard, light board and audiovisual equipment. The space is managed by the Department of Student Activities; all requests for the space should be made through the Operations Specialist, Sarah Richardson. A group of dedicated theater assistants helps run the technical aspects of events.
