Core Committee
Meet the Fall Fest 2013 Core Committee!!!
The 2013 Fall Fest Core Committee comprises a group of seven student coordinators who are responsible for the planning and marketing of the event. This year's team consists of:

Vinson Chen (in U.S)
Year: 2015
Academic Programs Coordinator
I'm Vinson Chen, a current Sophomore (Junior next year), and this year’s Academic Programs Coordinator. In terms of my studies, I’m a tentative Biology major seeking a minor in Health: Science, Society and Policy. While I work in a Biochemistry laboratory as an Undergraduate Researcher, my real drive lies in a love for running and an interest in health. Based off this, if I could travel anywhere, it would be to Kenya for the chance to promote the importance of nutrition and the opportunity to live, laugh, love, and run. Now here are some facts about me that relate to my travels: I was born in Oklahoma, moved to Tennessee, moved to Minnesota, and finally ended up in Belmont, Massachusetts where I’ve lived since the fourth grade. Brandeis has been the most recent stop in my journey; while it seems to be so short-lived, I’m going to try my best to make the most of my experience here.
Margo Kolenda (in Spain)
Year: 2014
Off-campus Programs Coordinator
Hi! My name is Margo Kolenda, and I really love Fall Fest, so much so that this is my second year acting as the Off-Campus Programming Coordinator. This year I decided to really embrace our theme, Around ‘Deis in 80 hours, by studying abroad during the spring in Sevilla, Spain. In fact, I am actually writing this biography from the other side of the world! I love traveling, and speaking Spanish, but luckily I have the amazing FallFest weekend to make me look forward to coming back for the fall. I am so excited to take FallFesters on some adventures beyond the Brandeis campus! Around my Brandeis in what will soon be 8 semesters, I am a triple major in English, Hispanic Studies, and Comparative Literature, with a minor in Linguistics. Around the World I was born and raised in the barely-there hamlet of Treadwell, New York, have been to Thailand multiple times, Costa Rica, and hopped around Europe a few times. But my favorite place has got to be by far Brandeis campus in Waltham, Mass: come to Fall Fest and find out why for yourself!
Sandra Luo (in New Zealand)
Year: 2015
On-campus Programs Coordinator
I am class of 2015, majoring in Business and Computer Science. I first started volunteering for Fall Fest my first year at Brandeis and I am so excited to be on Fall Fest Core! Key events that I organized are the Friday night Comedian Show and the Saturday night Variety Show. I am very involved on campus; apart from Fall Fest, I was an Orientation Leader, work at Phonathon, and am a Teaching Assistant for Financial Accounting. Clearly, I love being busy and active on campus. I'm incredibly excited for Fall Fest to start because there are so many exciting, fun events planned for the weekend! I also once saw Jackie Chan at the airport (in Beijing!)
Tiffany Mei (at Yangtze River, China)
Year: 2016
Campus Marketing Coordinator
After volunteering for Fall Fest 2012, I was hooked onto the entire concept of Fall Fest: families visiting their students at Brandeis and seeing snippets of what life at Brandeis is like by attending a plethora of fun on and off-campus events planned by the CORE. Now part of the Fall Fest 2013 CORE myself, I am looking forward to this upcoming Fall Fest. This year’s theme, Around the ‘Deis in 80 Hours, was inspired by the original book, Around the World in 80 Days. To me, the theme seems to describe the Fall Fest weekend perfectly, but it is the connection between our theme and the original book/movie that I like best because it brings feelings of internationality and the idea of families and friends coming from all around the country—and maybe even the world—just to come and see Brandeis.
Outside of Fall Fest, I love travelling with my family. I have been to China a few times, but most of my travelling has been throughout the U.S.; I have visited over half of the fifty states. Besides travelling, I love to spend time with family and friends, sail, swim, bake, take photographs, and spend time outdoors.

Libby Panipinto (in Egypt)
Year: 2015
Volunteer Coordinator
Hi Brandeis! My name is Libby Panipinto and I am the volunteer coordinator for Fall Fest 2013. I’m a sophomore from Dallas, TX and I’m pursuing a major in International and Global Studies as well as Anthropology with a minor in Legal Studies. This is my second year involved in Fall Fest and I cannot wait until October! As the volunteer coordinator, I recruit and train volunteers for the weekend as well as help plan events that everyone can enjoy—students and families!
One of my favorite things to do is travel. I spent a year in Israel before coming to Brandeis on Young Judaea’s Year Course. While I was there I travelled all over Israel as well as took a trip to Egypt! This summer I am attending the Brandeis in The Hague program and staying in Europe afterwards to travel with my family. I also plan to go abroad during the spring semester next year to London. No time like the present to explore the world!
Outside of Fall Fest, I volunteer for the blood drive and I am a Promotions Coordinator for Student Events. I also work for Brandeis Tickets, so feel free to stop by the box office in the SCC to say hello!Minqi Shen (in Sichuan, China)
Year: 2014
Communication and Outreach Coordinator
Hi, I am Minqi Shen, a rising junior majoring in Biology. I will be your communication and outreach coordinator for Fall Fest this year. Fall Fest is one of my favourite event on campus. I volunteered two years ago, and saw a lot of sweet moments among Brandeis students and their families. I was touched and hope to contribute something to the family weekend. I will try my best to cooperate with other coordinators and present the best family weekend for you.
I love anime, I love traveling and I love to meet new friends. I love to explore new stuff, and extend my limitation. I’ve worked for BAASIC (Boston Asian American Students Intercollegiate Coalition) and GCC (Global China Connection), and I will bring what I learnt from these to Fall Fest, and bring you a wonderful weekend.

Xiaoyue Sun (in Chicago, U.S)
Year: 2016
Administrative Coordinator
My name is Xiaoyue Sun, if you find my name hard to pronounce, you could call me Alice. I am the administrative coordinator for Fall Fest 13. I’m a freshman and want to major in Economics and Computer Science. Last year I volunteered in Fall Fest, and right now I’m actually planning Fall Fest. I can’t wait until everything comes true in October. As the administrative coordinator, I will be at the register table all the time. Please stop by; I’m looking forward to talk to every students and families. I like traveling and movie. My favorite movie is the Lord of the Rings and I want to live in New Zealand, the middle earth, for the rest of my life.
