Core Committee

Meet the Fall Fest 2012 Core Committee!!!

Core Committee

The 2012 Fall Fest Core Committee comprises a group of seven student coordinators who are responsible for the planning and marketing of the event. This year's team consists of:

Coordinator   Pew Bounvilay ‘15 (Coordinator) wants to major in Economics and minor in Educational Studies. She might also want to major in Neuroscience, depending on how hard the courses are. She is from Laos and is madly in love with Lao food, very spicy yet delicious. She also loves to read, meditate, and travel. She also loves to watch Disney movies (alone). Although she is not a Disney freak, she is a big fan of many Disney characters. Particularly, she loves Cinderella. She can’t wait for this year’s Fall Fest to start because there are going to be a lot of fun events happen on campus during the Weekend!

Volunteer Coordinator   Yan Chu ’13 (Volunteer Coordinator) is majoring in Biology and Health: Science, Society, and Policy (HSSP). She is a Southern girl who has moved around quite a bit. She is currently living in the Horse Capital of the World: Lexington, Kentucky. Having volunteered for Fall Fest for the past three years, she is very excited to be a part of the Core Committee during her last year at Brandeis. Outside of class she can be found cooking in her Ridgewood kitchen or trying out different restaurants around Boston. She especially loves ice cream and a variety of Asian pastries. Her favorite Disney princess is Belle from Beauty and the Beast, because she is a firm believer that beauty comes from within.

Off Campus Coordinator  Margo Kolenda ’14 (Off Campus Programming Coordinator) was born once upon a time in the far away village of Treadwell, NY. She grew up in the tradition of the minstrel, wandering the countryside and playing the banjo. One day the handsome Brandeis University swept her off her feet, and now she lives in a castle and studies English, Hispanic Studies, and Linguistics. She is excited to embark on some magical quests around Boston with all of Brandeis’ friends and family attending Fall Fest 2012. She is classically trained in the art of watching Disney movies, of which her favorite is Aladdin. Her favorite fairy tale is her own, because she has no idea how it will end but is certain that it will end Happily Ever After.

Administrative Coordinator   Zoe Li ’13 (Administrative Coordinator) is a senior double majoring in Biology and Neuroscience. Hailing from the town of West Hartford, CT, Zoe is a true New Englander at heart. She loves fall, especially when the leaves change color and the air starts to get cooler. She is excited to be part of the Fall Fest Core Committee as she gets to help plan one of the best weekends of the year, in which parents and students come together exploring Brandeis. Her favorite Disney heroine is Ariel from The Little Mermaid. Outside of school, Zoe plays violin and enjoys practicing yoga. Zoe plans to attend medical school and hopes to become a doctor after graduating.

Academic Programs Coordinator   Amanda Winn '13 (Academic Programs Coordinator) is from Long Island and majoring in biology. She is excited to be a part of Fall Fest and get students and their families more involved with faculty and staff. When not making volcanoes erupt at the Waltham Boys & Girls Club, she can be found reading or exploring NYC. Without a doubt, Aladdin is her favorite Disney movie. However, she dreams of kicking butt like Mulan and saving China from the evil Shan Yu.

Campus Marketing Coordinator   Julie Yiu ’13 (Campus Marketing Coordinator) is majoring in Health: Science, Society and Policy (HSSP) and Business, minoring in Economics. She is from the highly dynamic city, Hong Kong. She is excited to be part of Fall Fest as she can see Brandeis students spending the weekend with their family and connecting with alumni and faculty. She loves cooking Chinese food and dancing, especially Lyrical Jazz and Hip Hop. Her favorite fairy tale is Beauty and the Beast. Cinderella is her favorite Disney princess. Her dream is to open her own hospital.

Outreach and Communications Coordinator  Heather Yoon ‘15 (Outreach and Communications Coordinator) is a Cali girl majoring in International and Global Studies and Politics with minors in Legal Studies, Women and Gender Studies, and East Asian Studies. Heather especially loves to travel and dreams of traveling to Africa, Dubai, and Egypt in the near future. During her free time, she loves to watch Hollywood’s classic movies over and over again. And of course, she loves walking on the beach on the usual sunny day in SoCal and hanging out with her favorite Disney princesses Belle and Cinderella at Disneyland! She is excited to be part of Fall Fest because of the awesome events the core has planned together for an unforgettable “once upon a time” experience.
