AmeriCorps Student Leaders in Service
The AmeriCorps Student Leaders in Service (ASLIS) program is a nation-wide initiative that gives students engaged in service an opportunity to earn a stipend for their volunteer work. Brandeis University currently has 11 students enrolled for the 2012-2013 schoolyear. Students must complete a minimum of 300 hours of service (over the course of a year), as well as other minor program requirements. At the completion of the program, they receive an AmeriCorps education award of $1,175. Education awards can be used to repay qualified student loans or to pay all or part of the cost of attending a qualified institution of higher education.
More information on the program can be found at Massachusetts Campus Compact.
