Students who enroll in the award program and track their service hours through Sage will be eligible for a medal to be worn at graduation in recognition and will have access to their logged hours for reference when making resumes.

Building Understanding: A Focus on Homelessness in Local Communities
Join Waltham Group’s Habitat for Humanity program as they challenge stereotypes about homelessness in our local community. Tatjana Meschede, Senior Lecturer at the Heller School, will present on homelessness in Massachusetts, highlighting her own work and observations, which will be followed by small discussion groups on attitudes toward homelessness and ways to get involved. *’Deis Impact Event

My Social Justice Identity: Power, Privilege and Allyship
Explore your identities (race, religion, etc.) and how they inform social justice work! We’ll look at the power and privileges that come with these identities and how they inform our motivations to advocate for social justice, and we will discuss ways to use our identities to initiate positive change and empowerment around us. Are you curious how to talk about your volunteer work in a medical school essay, how to include it on your resume or how to talk about your service work during interviews? Join your fellow Brandeisians as a panel of seasoned and young Waltham Group alumni share how they capitalized on their volunteer work while at Brandeis and how their experiences launched them into graduate school and helped them secure fellowships and first jobs. Spring Sock and Clothing Drive
Waltham Group’s Hunger and Homelessness and Hospital Helpers programs will send students to collect lightly used clothing and new socks from Waltham families to donate to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program, Goodwill and local shelters.
