New Policy on 'Sick Notes'

Documenting Student Illness

If a Brandeis student should experience an illness or condition which results in absence from class or the need for an extension on work deadlines, Brandeis University expects its students to speak to or email their professors directly, prior to a class absence. Brandeis Health Center does not write "sick or excuse notes" for class absences.

Students with a serious illness or condition that lasts longer than a few days or results in hospitalization should contact the Office of Academic Affairs (6-3470) and the Brandeis Health Center (6-3677) for advice on managing their academic responsibilities and medical needs.

See FAQ re: Why doesn't the Health Center provide notes for student absences?
