How long have you worked with the Department of Student Activities? I have worked with the Department of Student Activities for a year.
What is your favorite part of your role:
I enjoy every aspect of my role as Senior Coordinator but I especially love the venue selection process. It is a critical stage of the formal process as it largely impacts the experience that the Junior and Senior classes will have. It kickstarts the creative process to visualize the event.
How has this involvement impacted your time at Brandeis? Becoming formal coordinator has introduced me to the inner workings of Brandeis. I've met people that I probably wouldn't have if I had not been on the team and have learned so much more about our community.
What made you get involved? The formal process is very hands on and interactive and involves both artistic and technical design. It is an opportunity to connect with members of my class and the class of 2018. As coordinators for the Junior/Senior Formal we have to survey and synthesize the interests of our potential guests. In this we get to create something that directly reflects and celebrates the diversity of our Brandeis community and our achievements. I became involved simply because I love Brandeis.

The Junior/Senior Formal is always a big night for Brandeis juniors and seniors as they dress up and enjoy a night of dancing, dining and celebrating during the spring semester! The Formal is held annually for the Junior and Senior classes and their guests.  The event is traditionally held off campus during the spring semester.  The Formal is planned by two student coordinators, who are advised by the Department of Student Activities.
