Be a Community Partner Liaison

Purpose of the Job: Provide support and capacity building for community organizations that partner with Brandeis through a variety of outlets.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines, including short and long term initiatives
  • Working knowledge of basic volunteer management and community engagement best practices
  • Strong written and oral communication
  • Past experience in event planning and grant writing preferred
  • Ability to work autonomously and on a team of staff and students
  • Basic knowledge of Brandeis resources
  • Desire to serve as an agent of the University and Department of Community Service
  • Ability to creatively solve problems and take a strong initiative on projects
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Drive
  • Must have license, as will need to drive a university vehicle occasionally

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate community partner breakfast events to formalize Brandeis resources available to community partners and thus deepen their impact
  • Manage, maintain, and promote volunteer sites and community partner database to increase frequency of service and number of student volunteers in the community
  • Co-Author grants and letters of support to provide funding sources for community partner sites in partnership with Brandeis
  • Draft and distribute newsletters to community partner sites to keep them informed of Brandeis resources and provide an outlet for organizations to share information with other community partners
  • Manage and triage all new requests for volunteers from community partner sites
  • Communicate regularly with all community partner sites to collect and interpret data about student engagement and to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the partnership
  • Lessen the burden on community partners by emailing all student volunteers monthly with reminders, campus calendars and volunteer best practices
  • Market the community outreach efforts of Brandeis programs at local community partners to promote the services and missions of our partners
  • Serve as a liaison between Brandeis and the community to coordinate the use of space for special events and to recruit student groups for participation in special one-time events
  • Assist with other activities, not currently structured through our student leadership model, as needed and requested by the community and our partners
