FISH
First-Year Involvement, Strategies, and Happenings

The FISH initiative was designed to develop a series of programs for first-year students (residents, commuters, transfers) to help with their retention and their success, both in Brandeis and beyond. These programs will be intentional and developmental, as well as provide students with the resources & information to help make their transition into the Brandeis community a smooth one.
The three main goals of the FISH initiative are:
- Establish a central body for resources and information focusing on first-year needs.
- Collaborate efforts to generate high quality, intentional, and “wholistic” first-year programs.
- Create greater connectivity to further support students in their first-year experience.
With our "Wholistic Approach" we intend to apply our Core Values into a Spirit, Mind, Body Model for programmatic purposes. Spirit, Mind, Body encompasses Academic Development, Social, Educational, Spiritual, Athletics & Recreation, Community Service, Cultural, and Creative Arts.
