Brandeis Hebrew Language Summer Institute

The Hebrew Language Summer Institute (HLSI) is presented by the Brandeis Near Eastern and Judaic Studies Department and the Rabb School of Summer and Continuing Studies

The nationally acclaimed Brandeis University Hebrew Language Program is one of the largest modern Hebrew programs in the United States. It has assumed a leadership role in the teaching and learning of Hebrew and in the development of Hebrew proficiency guidelines, new curricula, and authentic comprehension materials. The Hebrew Program at Brandeis is staffed by dedicated instructors with an average 15 years of teaching experience. Each of these uniquely qualified instructors also contributes expertise in a specialized aspect of Israeli culture and Hebrew language including theater, film, and literature.

The Hebrew Program at Brandeis University will present its eleventh annual Hebrew Language Summer Institute from June 2 - June 27, 2008, on the Brandeis campus in Waltham, Massachusetts. The special four-week Summer Institute is an unsurpassed opportunity to benefit from the expertise of a well-established program.

Admission to the HLSI s open to undergraduate, graduate and commuting high school students, as well as teachers and educators from secondary and post-secondary institutions. The Institute also welcomes adults who wish to become proficient in the modern Hebrew language.
