Who can use SAGE to register online?
Online enrollment through SAGE (the online Brandeis student records system) is open to:
- Current Brandeis Undergraduate and Graduate students in good financial standing
- Brandeis Alumni and former Brandeis students
- Returning visitors and employees
- Adult learners
- Undergraduate and Graduate students visiting Brandeis for the summer from other college and universities
For all others, online enrollment in SAGE is not available. Your enrollment will require paper forms which may be found on the links below. This includes:

As a new student to Brandeis you will need to create a student record in the Brandeis SAGE system. To do this, visit: https://sage.brandeis.edu/rabb-summer/ Fill out the application to create a student record and you will instantly be provided with a Student Record ID and Password, so you can log into SAGE and register for classes using the steps below.
Please note: in rare instances the record you create may be too similar to an existing student (i.e. same last name and date of birth) and it will take up to 24 hours to determine if you are a new student or if there is already a Brandeis record for you. In these rare instances, your Student Record ID and Password will be emailed to you.
Once you have your SAGE Student Record ID and Password you can log into SAGE and finish registering for courses using the steps below as if you were a current Brandeis Student!

Instructions on How to Register in SAGE if you are a current Brandeis student.
For those eligible to register in SAGE, here are detailed steps that will help you through the process:
1) Log in to SAGE: https://sage.brandeis.edu
(Please use Firefox or Internet Explorer to register in SAGE. Certain features are not supported in other Internet browsers)
2) Now indicate that you would like to enroll in summer classes by activating yourself in the 2009 Summer Term. After you log in to SAGE on the left hand side of the screen you will see:
"Rabb School of Summer and Continuing Studies
Activate and enroll in classes for:
- Continuing Studies
- Summer School"
Click the highlighted link "Summer School".
3) On the next screen click the link "Activate in Summer semester".
4) You have now reached the Summer School Term Activation page - read the terms, conditions and payment information on this page carefully. When you are ready to enroll, select "Summer 2009" from the pull-down menu at the bottom of the page and hit "Submit". Your student record is now active in Summer 2009 and you can enroll in summer classes!
5) After activating yourself in the summer term, select the "Summer 2009" term.
6) Now click on "Add Classes" in the lower left. (Should you end your session or need to return to add courses later, when you log in select "Academics" then "Add, Drop and Swap Classes".)
7) Type in the 4 digit SAGE Class Number in the Class Nbr field and then hit "Tab" and the course you are adding should appear. SAGE Class Numbers can be found in the course descriptions found on this website. When you have added all the classes you wish to sign up for, hit "Submit" to enroll.
If you do not know the SAGE Class Number you can search for the class by clicking on the magnifying glass  to the right of the Class Nbr field. Use the next screen to search for your summer class by subject (ECON), catalog number (2a), session (Summer Session II), or other criteria. Once you have found the summer class you would like to enroll in, click the check box  to the left of the class to select it.
A few select classes require a Consent Code (like INT 92g, ENVS 89a, or JOUR 89a) please enter the code given to you by the Instructor. If you are uncertain if your class requires a Consent Code, just leave the box blank and SAGE will alert you if a Consent Code is needed. Most classes do not need a Consent Code.
8) After a moment of processing, you will be alerted that you have successfully enrolled in Summer School classes and will be reminded that payment is required within 72 hours. Click "OK".
9) Next, calculate the total due on your Student Account by scrolling down and hitting "Make a Payment"
10) You now have the opportunity to pay your balance online through the TMS Gateway by selecting "Make a Credit Card Payment through TMS Gateway" (2%-4% surcharge) or "Make a Checking Account Payment through TMS Gateway" (free!)

PLEASE NOTE: By registering for Brandeis Summer School classes, you are making a financial commitment. Online enrollment through SAGE presumes immediate payment online, or within 72 hours of registration. If you are unable to make payment as soon as you enroll, please wait to enroll until you can complete payment. If payment is not complete within 72 hours or enrollment, you will be asked to withdraw from your courses and re-enroll when payment is possible.
Enrollment in courses result in a nonrefundable $50 registration fee. There is no "shopping period" for summer courses. Submit your course selections only when you are certain you will be attending the Brandeis Summer School.
A tuition bill for your summer charges will not be sent to your billing address. You are expected to review your Student Account in SAGE and make appropriate payment arrangements.
There are several ways to pay for Summer Courses:
- CREDIT CARD THROUGH TMS - A request for payment by credit card is built into the SAGE enrollment process. You can pay by MasterCard, Discover or American Express by selecting the "Make Payment through TMS Gateway" link. PLEASE NOTE: There is a 2%-4% service charge on payments made credit card. Visa cards are not accepted. The charge will appear as "TMS Gateway" on your credit card statement.
- U.S. BANK ACCOUNT TRANSFER THROUGH TMS - You may also use the TMS system to perform a free Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) and have money transferred from your U.S. checking or savings account to pay for your summer classes. There is no charge for Electronic Fund Transfers through TMS.
You may return to SAGE and view and pay your account balance with TMS by visiting:
Home > SA Self Service > Student Services > Finances > Financial Services.
If you have technical problems with the Tuition Management Systems (TMS) site, you can call TMS at 1-800-722-4867. The TMS monthly payment plan is not available for summer.
- CHECK OR MONEY ORDER SENT TO BRANDEIS - You may also drop off a check or money order to either the Office of Student Financial Services in Usdan, Room 120 or the Summer School Office at Old South Street, 2nd floor.
Be sure to include the name of the student in the memo field of the check. Checks should be made payable to: "Brandeis University".
If mailing a check, please e-mail the Summer School office at summerschool@brandeis.edu with your name and SAGE ID number so we know that your tuition payment will be arriving shortly. The check should be mailed to: Summer School - MS 085, Brandeis University, PO Box 549110, Waltham, MA 02454-9110
- STUDENT LOANS - If you are a current Brandeis undergraduate and qualify for loans as confirmed by your financial aid advisor in Student Financial Services, a notation is added to your financial record to prevent you from being dropped from your courses before loan funds are received.
- WIRE TRANSFER - If you are an International Student who needs to pay by wire transfer. Information for wire transfers to Brandeis can be found here.
