Give & Go

Did you know? Most of Brandeis' trash goes to incinerators where it is burned, not to landfills. So donate, don't incinerate, your unwanted items at move out!

Collection boxes will be located in residence hall common areas starting the first week of May 2017, and will remain until the end of finals.

Volunteers are needed to help monitor collection boxes. Email sustainability@brandeis.edu for more info!

Acceptable items for donation to the Salvation Army:

  • Clothing, shoes, books, sports equipment
  • Household goods (bedding, rugs, lamps, towels, etc.)
  • Kitchen goods (small appliances, dishware, cutlery, etc.)
  • Electronics (monitors, printers, speakers, etc.)
  • Solid wood furniture (book cases, tables, chairs, etc.)
  • Unopened packages of paper goods, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies

Unacceptable items:

  • Pressboard/particle board furniture (such as Ikea-like night stands, coffee tables, etc.)
  • Garbage/ litter
  • Anything broken or in bad condition

The Food Recovery Network will be collecting non-perishable food items during the week in SCC across from the ticket booth.
