What campus resources have you utilized during your sophomore year?

During my sophomore year, more so then any other resource I have definitely used the Study Abroad Office. They helped me get all of my things together to made sure that I picked the right program and was confident in the application process.

What has been your favorite moment of sophomore year?

The best moment of my sophomore year (though so many to choose from) came last week when I decided to finally declare my Psychology major and Journalism minor. Nothing felt better than walking to the registrar's office, carbon copies in hand ready to go, and then later seeing my majors on Sage. That to me was a huge accomplishment, and though it was only getting a paper signed, it really solidified my future plans.

What has been your most challenging moment of sophomore year?

The most challenging part of my semester has definitely been picking and choosing what I wanted to be involved in and realizing I couldn't do it all. As a first year I really wasn't involved in that much outside the classroom and I wanted to change that quickly. By the time second semester of my sophomore year rolled around, I was in 5 classes, working 3 jobs while applying for a 4th, being a member of Student Events and volunteering in various activities here and there. I realized I needed a happy medium between the two, and it could be achieved while still wanting to accomplish all I sought out. Since then I dropped a class and quit one job and have not looked back since doing so.

In general, what advice would you give to sophomores?

I think the advice I would give is to keep trying new things. Just because you didn't join a club or organization your first year does not mean it is too late. Taking advantage of all Brandeis has to offer is essential for the college experience and if you don't like something it's okay to say no!
