Faculty & Staff

Brandeis faculty and staff are crucial partners in our endeavor to bring one-stop advising resources to sophomores.
This mentorship is particularly crucial as sophomores are making career forming decisions such as what to declare a major in, whether and where they should study abroad, and how to create a marketable resume through internship opportunities.

SYE helps to support this relationship by providing events and initiatives where sophomores can meet with faculty and staff and begin dialogue.

  • In the fall semester, the "Passport to Sophomore Success" event helps over 150 sophomores meet with Undergraduate Departmental Representatives (UDRs), and staff from Academic Services, Hiatt Career Center, Community Living, Study Abroad, Student Financial Services, Student Activities, Writing Center, B.U.G.S, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and more.
  • In the spring semester, the "Major Decisions" initiative encourages sophomores to meet with the Undergraduate Advising Head (UAH) of the department they wish you officially declare a major in.  To help, we provide sophomores with a "how to fill out the major declaration form" so they are prepared when meeting with the UAH.  We also put together a web site that lists the UAH office hours and best way to contact them.

We strive to provide even more events and opportunities for sophomores to connect with faculty and staff and further enrich their Brandeis career.
