Jonathan Jacobson is the co-founder and chief executive officer of Highfields Capital Management, an investment management firm that manages private investment funds for endowments, charitable and philanthropic foundations, pension funds and other institutional and private investors. The firm was founded in 1998.

Prior to founding Highfields Capital in 1998, Jacobson was the senior equity portfolio manager for the Harvard Management Company from 1990 to 1998. He was the vice president of the Equity Arbitrage Group for Shearson Lehman Brothers from 1987 to 1990.

Jacobson is a trustee for the Gilman School and the Birthright Israel Foundation. He is a former member of the Board of Dean’s Advisors for Harvard Business School.

Jacobson received his B.S. at the University of Pennsylvania and his M.B.A. at Harvard Business School.
