Dolores Kohl is the president and chief executive officer of the Dolores Kohl Education Foundation. Kohl created and operated model teacher centers in the United States, Europe and the Near East and produced arts programming, movies and television for schools and public television. Kohl is a trustee of the Ravinia Festival Association and a trustee emerita for Kohl Children’s Museum of Greater Chicago. She is a governing member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

Kohl is a member of the Early Childhood Committee of Chicago Metropolis 2020, the Fortnightly Club of Chicago, the Standard Club of Chicago, and the Arts Club of Chicago. She is a member of the Visiting Committee for the School of Music at Northwestern University. Additionally, she is a sustaining fellow of the Art Institute in Chicago. Kohl is a recipient of the Peabody Award, the ORT Beverly Minkoff Award, the United States Holocaust Museum “Founder’s Award,” the Midwest Women’s Center Lifetime Achievement Award, and the State of Illinois Outstanding Educator of the Year. She is also a Fellow at Brandeis University.

Kohl received her B.A. at Brandeis University and her L.H.D. at Erickson Institute.
