Our Mission

Roosevelt Fellows are upperclass peer mentors who assist first year students' academic and personal acclimation to Brandeis University. This prestigious position bears the name of Eleanor Roosevelt, an early instructor and Board of Trustees member of Brandeis University, renowned for her work toward greater social justice. Roosevelt Fellows work with first year students in two primary ways: one-on-one academic consultation and facilitation of skill building and community enhancing programs.

Roosevelt Fellows establish a tradition of mentoring and care between students by offering knowledge and perspective gained through experience and extensive training. Fellows transmit pride in Brandeis University's history and contemporary accomplishments, and continue a spirit of community by promoting intra- and inter-class connection. Like their namesake, the Roosevelt Fellows make a difference for Brandeis University by providing dedicated leadership and service.
