Hi, we know it's been a while since you have seen anything new on this page and we apologize. We have been very busy improving the service that we provide for the Brandeis community
Since 1998, when Brandeis began to upgrade the campus to Ethernet, a great deal has happened. First, there was Internet access from all dorm rooms across campus, then all the administrative offices and classroom buildings were wired as well. Students were able to open UNet accounts allowing space for web pages and files. And, over the past two years we have been working hard to get the faculty, staff, and graduate students on the UNet system as well in order to provide them with the same things as the undergraduates. We are proud to report that close to all of the campus is on UNet now.
During these changeovers we have also amended our set up to serve you better. The student Help Desk located next to the Mac and PC clusters in the Feldberg building is still the same. This facility is equipped with an iMac cluster with a scanner, and a Windows 2000 cluster, both with printing capabilities.
Completely student run, the Help Desk is for undergrad phone and walk-in support and support of those using the clusters. During the summer the Help Desk is open from 9am-9pm , Monday through Friday with hours extending in the fall when classes resume. To reach a consultant, please call x9UNET.
In addition to the Help Desk, the Tech Desk is located on the ground floor of the Feldberg Building in Room 21 opposite the Telecommunications Office. Distinctly for faculty, staff, and graduate students, the Tech Desk is open from 9am-5pm, Monday through Friday. The phone number is x67782.
