Planned Network Outage - Feb 18, 11:30-1:30
There was an unscheduled IMAP server outage from 4:40 to 4:50pm this
afternoon (Feb 16) to check out a possible disk problem. I.e., if you
read your mail with Netscape and you got "connection refused" or such,
that was unplanned, but under control. No serious problems were found.
Mail is stored on redundant RAID systems anyway.

PLANNED NETWORK OUTAGE - RABB & USDAN - FEB 18, 11:30AM-1:30PM
In order to address ongoing issues of network instability and to provide
additional growth capacity, Network Operations staff will be replacing
certain network equipment in Rabb and Usdan on Thursday, February 18. This
work will affect ONLY the LocalTalk network, and ONLY in Rabb and Usdan.
Due to the nature of the work, the exact start time and duration of the
outage in each building cannot be predicted. However, all work will take
place in the announced window of 11:30am to 1:30pm, after which time the
network in both buildings will be fully functional.
This work has been scheduled on the third Thursday of the month, in
accordance with the standard network maintenance windows. (As a reminder,
network outages may be scheduled between 11:30am and 1:30pm on the first or
third Thursday of the month, or between 5:00pm Friday and 8:00am Monday on
the last full weekend of the month.)
