An Alumnae Gathering was hosted by our Women's and Gender Studies Board member Valya Shapiro '61 on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at 7:00 pm. Special guest of the evening Karen Hansen, Brandeis Professor of Sociology and WGS, discussed her new book, Not-So-Nuclear Families: Class, Gender, and Networks of Care, which investigates the lives of working parents and the networks they construct to help care for their children.
