The inaugural gathering of our New York Chapter, hosted by co-chairs Sara Mandelbaum ’81 and Nancy Tabs ‘90, was held at the Brandeis House on Thursday, January 26, 2006 from 6:30-8:00 pm. Special guest of the evening Karen Hansen, Brandeis Professor of Sociology and WGS, discussed her new book, Not-So-Nuclear Families: Class, Gender, and Networks of Care, which investigates the lives of working parents and the networks they construct to help care for their children.
