WGS Senior Paper
Senior Paper Guidelines
Requirement:
The research essay you write for WMGS 198a will fulfill the senior paper requirement, provided that it passes with a grade of at least C. If you decide to offer this paper in fulfillment of the senior essay requirement, there is no need for you to submit an additional copy to the WGS program office. You must have two core faculty members sign off on the attached form (at least one of who is a WMGS 198a professor) acknowledging that you completed the requirement.
You are encouraged to revise the essay based on the comments of your core faculty readers and submit the revised copy to be considered for the Giller-Sagan Prize ($150) at the end of the spring term. Outstanding submissions will also be published in our online undergraduate research journal.
Length:
Projects necessarily range in length according to their design and methodology. However, the senior project must be a substantial piece of work. We suggest that you aim for a final paper of 20 to 30 pages.
Submission Deadline:
Students seeking consideration for the Giller-Sagan Prize and/or the online Undergraduate Research Journal must submit their revised senior paper by Friday, May 2, 2008.The Giller-Sagan Prize
