Barbara Hirshfield

Babs Hirshfield is Vice-President of Ideal Financial Services, Inc. of Springfield, Massachusetts. Originally founded by her father, Ideal specializes in providing consumer loans to New England residents. Under Barbara’s direction, the company has expanded from a small lender to become a broker of auto loans and a regional consumer finance company.

Barbara completed her undergraduate work in education at Boston University. After ten years as an educator, she returned to school to complete her Masters degree in guidance and counseling at Boston College. While at Boston College, she served as Assistant Director for the Boston College Student Teacher Program. In 1980, Barbara joined her sister as a managing partner at Ideal.
