The Student-Scholar Partnership (SSP) is a unique and innovative paid internship program that matches undergraduate Brandeis men and women with Scholars at the Women's Studies Research Center at Brandeis University. The students and scholars work collaboratively on research or artistic projects that focus on women's issues. Past partnerships have been rewarding for both students and scholars, with students gaining new skills and contexts through their experiences.
How Does it Work?
At the beginning of each semester, the SSP Coordinator receives project proposals from WSRC Scholars.. Each proposal includes a description of the research project and the role the student will play. These project proposals are available on our website during the recruiting period in the "Project Summaries" section. (Please see tab to left)
How Do I Apply?
Undergraduate Brandeis students should submit their resume through the Brandeis Student Employment website. They should next complete this application form and return a copy of the application and supporting materials to the SSP Coordinator, Kristen Mullin: mullin@brandeis.edu. Applications are subsequently forwarded to the appropriate Scholar. Each Scholar then reviews the application, schedules an interview if appropriate and selects the student with whom s/he wants to work. The final step in the partnership formation process is an orientation meeting during which program expectations and ideas about mentoring are explained.
Undergraduate Sophomore, Junior and Senior Students in all disciplines are encouraged to apply.
