Susan Dibble

Louis, Frances, and Jeffrey Sachar Professor of Creative Arts

I teach courses that focus on movement and dance for the theater. I am drawn to the mystery of image and how color, shape and movement coexist on the paper.

These videos document a collaboration with Jessica Ruiz '20, a student in my course THA 120b, Movement and Dance Theater Composition. For their final assignment, I made a short solo for each of my 26 students. I created each piece based on my sense of them, using impulses I had when thinking about them. I asked each student to learn the solo and make a beginning and end, with the solo I made as the middle.
