Peter Simi

Peter Simi is Associate Professor of Criminology & Criminal Justice at the University of Nebraska, Omaha. His research interests include social psychological approaches to understanding social movement activism, deviance, and the conditions that facilitate radicalization. Along with Robert Futrell, he is the author of the book, American Swastika: Inside the White Power Movement's Hidden Spaces of Hate, which is an examination of how white supremacists sustain their movement in a highly antagonistic environment. More recently, he is preparing to conduct a study comparing lone actor terrorism with group-based terrorism and non-ideological, lone actor violence such as rampage shootings.
