Hans-Gerd Jascke is professor of Political Science at the HWR Berlin School of Economics and Law in the Faculty of Police and Security Management. From 2002 to 2007 he was the head of the Department of Law and Social Sciences at the Polizei-Fuehrungsakademie Muenster (since 2006: German Police University). His teaching issues are the political system of Germany and the EU, political extremism and police training of senior police officers in the EU within the European Police Academy Cepol. He has published several books, essays and articles regarding police studies and political extremism, most recently a 2010 article entitled "Right-wing extremism, social work and police new governance?" He also has extensive international experience as a researcher on different working groups and as a lecturer in seminars and conferences.
