Waltham Group President

Matt Nadler is a junior from Austin, Texas double majoring in Biology and Health: Science, Society, and Policy (HSSP). After serving as a General Tutoring and TAPS (then TIPS) volunteer his first semester, Matt became a TAPS coordinator in the spring of his first year, playing a leading role in the program's rebranding efforts. Throughout his time as a coordinator, Matt has focused on bringing in new technologies to make his program better, an effort he has since helped spread to other programs. Matt is excited and honored to serve as the Waltham Group President this year. Matt's goals for the year include implementing the newly formed Waltham Group E-Board, improving volunteer relations and engagement, and finding new ways to increase collaborations within Waltham Group, Brandeis, and the greater Waltham community. Outside of Waltham Group, Matt can be found working as a private tutor, taking photos of New England's four seasons, playing around with new tech gadgets, or trying to finally get his dog to understand how a video chat works.

Waltham Group Volunteer Engagement Coordinator

Sophie serves as a coordinator for Brandeis Buddies and is a senior. Through her role, she works with the Waltham Group Public Relations Manager to advertise volunteer opportunities throughout the year. In support of the Training Team, Sophie helps to lead Waltham Group trainings on volunteer engagement strategies that are program-specific, particularly regarding volunteer retention and volunteer recruitment. She collaborates with campus partners, including the ICC, Gender and Sexuality Center, and Office for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion, to assess, improve, and broaden WG volunteer recruitment strategies to reach student groups underrepresented in Waltham Group. As needed, Sophie is available to meet with each Waltham Group program individually as requested to advise on retention, recruitment, and improving the overall volunteer experience. She plans all of Waltham Group's volunteer recruitment events throughout the year and assists in the planning of Volunteer appreciation and recognition events.

Treasurer

Rachel serves as a coordinator for General Tutoring and is a junior. In her role, Rachel provides oversight of the Waltham Group budget. She processes reimbursement paperwork submitted by Waltham Group coordinators to ensure that the budget is up to date and accurate and that forms get submitted properly to the Student Union. She also ensures that all invoice, reimbursement, and P-Card payments get accurately accounted for in the Waltham Group budget. At the end of each semester, she assists the President and Advisor with submitting all necessary paperwork to A-Board. She also attends any Student Union Treasurer Trainings or find a replacement to attend and update them on relevant information. As a part of her position, Rachel serves as a resource to assist programs with maximizing the utilization of their budget in a way that best meets their program’s mission.

Waltham Group Public Relations Coordinator

Julia serves as a coordinator-in-training for Habitat for Humanity and is a junior. Through her role, she runs Waltham Group social media on Facebook and Instagram, including social media takeovers on other pages. She publicizes Waltham Group events and programs in Waltham online community pages, calendars, and across campus. She maintains the Waltham Group website, brochures, and publications, as well as any other publicity projects. Additionally, she serves as a resource for programs looking for tips on how to add to their marketing and outreach initiatives.

Rachel serves as a coordinator for Companions to Elders (C2E) and is a senior. With the rest of the Training Team, she helps plan all Waltham Group coordinator, coordinator-in-training, and volunteer training initiatives. She specifically focuses on the programs of Homelessness and Housing, Blood Drive, Hospital Helpers, and Companions to Elders.

Theresa serves as a coordinator for Brandeis Buddies and is a junior. With the rest of the Training Team, she helps plan all Waltham Group coordinator, coordinator-in-training, and volunteer training initiatives. She specifically focuses on the programs of General Tutoring, Teaching Assistants in Public Schools, Brandeis Buddies, SPECTRUM, and LEAP.

Megan serves as a coordinator for Community Connections and is a sophomore. With the rest of the Training Team, she helps plan all Waltham Group coordinator, coordinator-in-training, and volunteer training initiatives. She specifically focuses on the programs of Service Without Borders, Habitat for Humanity, Community Connections, Symbiosis, and Big Siblings.

Emily serves as a coordinator for Junior Brandeis Achievers (JBA) and is a senior. With the rest of the Training Team, she helps plan all Waltham Group coordinator, coordinator-in-training, and volunteer training initiatives. She specifically focuses on the programs of Junior Brandeis Achievers, Prospect Hills Kids Club, Afternoon Enrichment, LaCE, and Kids Connections.
