The deadline for applications is November 27. The DNC Internship Program provides a $3,000 stipend. Housing is not provided. All applications must be submitted through our external application portal, linked here. Applications submitted solely through Handshake will not be reviewed. The Democratic National Committee (DNC) is offering a unique and exciting opportunity to a select number of qualified individuals interested in the field of technology and politics. We are currently seeking diligent, organized, and enthusiastic students or recent graduates with strong data and technology skills and a demonstrated interest in political campaigns to assist the DNC’s Technology team. Interns will gain an enhanced understanding of how technology plays a critical role in modern campaigns. The internship will also give real, hands-on political and technological experience that will be valuable for potential future employment opportunities. All of DNC Tech works to enable our users -- Voter File Managers, data directors in state parties, sister committees, vendors, DNC employees outside the Tech team, and campaigns up and down the ballot -- to support and elect Democrats across the country.Possibilities of teams to work with include: The Engineering team, who produce critical tools and infrastructure to support data directors, organizers, and campaigns throughout the Democratic ecosystem. On the engineering team, we use a mix of Python (largely the Django web framework for our backend web work), and JavaScript (React.js) on our front end, and various other languages and tools -- but there’s absolutely no need to be an expert in anything, or even to have used those tools before, to work with us! If you have a little bit of programming experience of any kind and are eager to learn about and contribute to engineering at the DNC, you can work with a bunch of experienced engineers on projects that support users and help us get ready to win elections in November.  The Community and/or Product teams, an integral part of DNC Tech that serves as the front door to our users, ensuring the DNC is listening and responsive to our community, prioritizing work sustainably, writing good documentation, and working with all Democrats to share results and lessons learned. We talk to people across the country who use our tools and we work to build a sustainable technology landscape for our team and every user -- and you’ll be right in the middle of that.  The IT, Security, Counter-Disinformation, and/or DevOps teams, who ensure that the Democratic technology ecosystem is secure and work to support all our users in issues of information technology sustainability, cybersecurity, solving major hardware and software problems our users face, lowering technology costs, and much more. We work to get a deep understanding of how what’s happening in the larger world of technology can affect the Democratic ecosystem, from detecting and monitoring disinformation online via data ingestion/APIs/search, to guarding against cybersecurity attacks, to improving deployment and software management processes across the team.  The Data team, who process, standardize, and enrich all kinds of data to help campaigns effectively reach voters, build models to improve voter contactability which campaigns up and down the ballot leverage for GOTV (Get out the Vote) programs and much more. We support all kinds of critical data analysis work being done across the country to support and elect Democrats, using a variety of tools, which include Google Data Studio, Google BigQuery, Python, R, and more. If you have some SQL and data analysis experience we can teach you about the tools we use! As an intern, no matter what team you work most closely with, DNC Tech as a whole will support you and work closely with you to make sure you have no obstacle course to access the resources you need to be successful. Please indicate in your essay (below) which team or teams you are interested in working with!  Who we are  The Tech team is a small, diverse team that provides the technology used by candidates and organizers in all 50 states and all 3,413 counties across the United States to analyze data, organize campaigns, raise money, and get out the vote on election day.Do you want to:Secure the future of our country?
