Robotics Course with Professor Pito Salas

Descriptive Transcript

[Calm opening music]

Hi, I am professor Pito Salas. Here at home, sheltering in place. I came to the U.S. to study, and I went to Brandeis actually, so I am a Brandies alumni.

These days I teach in the computer science department. I teach applied computer science.

Really after graduating Brandeis, I went to work in the real world. Worked as a software engineer for years, started a company, then decided after a complete career in that world, that I wanted to become a teacher and share what I had learned over the years.

But the course, I want to talk to you about real briefly right now, is our robotics course. It started a few years ago, because I was looking for a way to bring a big project, a big complicated project, to undergraduate students who were interested in building something.

That was more than just a class project, something that would go over more than one semester. It's really fun, and I think if you come to Brandeis, in our computer science department, you will get a kick out of it.

And I look forward to sharing all that with Yuan my exciting plans. So, I hope you are doing well and you are healthy, and I look forward to meeting all of you in the fall.

Bye-bye.
