Saudi Arabia and Kuwait: A Trip Report

Shai Feldman and Pascal Menomet sit at a dinner table with a man wearing a keffiyeh(Summary) From February 15-25, 2018, the Crown Center's research team and members of its Advisory Board traveled to Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. The group was joined by Tamara Cofman Wittes, senior fellow in the Center for Middle East Policy at the Brookings Institution. The trip included structured dialogues, individual meetings with experts and government officials, interactions with members of civil society, and a special journey to the southern region of Saudi Arabia adjacent to the Yemen border. This report is co-authored by Shai Feldman, the Judith and Sidney Swartz Director of the Crown Center, and Tamara Cofman Wittes. It summarizes the impressions of the two co-authors and does not represent the views of the Center, its Advisory Board, or the members of the group who traveled to Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
