Programmatic Initiatives
Undergraduate Departmental Representatives are responsible for executing at one initiative each semester.
An initiative does not need to be an event, but we strongly encourage all UDRs to host an event that not only introduces new students to returning students and faculty, but also introduces students to the special opportunities offered by your major (commonly called "Explore the Major").
Other initiatives can include providing peer advising/mentoring, organizing an alumni career panel, an internship panel, participating in a faculty search for your major, starting a podcast, etc.
It is up to you and your department/program to decide what programming is best. You can get some ideas from past UDRs or take a survey of your majors/minors and find out what they would like.
