Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Economics
The Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Economics provides quantitatively-oriented students an opportunity to incorporate more advanced mathematics into their Economics degree, expanding their ability to analyze data, economic trends and policy outcomes.
The requirements for the Quantitative Economics major introduce more in-depth study into the mathematical and statistical tools used in economic analysis, making the degree valuable for students interested in more technical professional roles or advanced graduate study.
A degree in Quantitative Economics requires the same number of economics courses as the BA in Economics. To the BA requirements, it adds three mathematics courses and requires that all four economics electives be upper-level. At least two electives would further develop or apply students’ econometrics, programming, or other quantitative skills. With instructor permission, advanced students may be able to enroll in quantitative masters or PhD-level courses as part of their undergraduate study.
