Polly Walker

Polly Walker is now Assistant Professor of Peace and Conflict Studies at Juniata College in Pennsylvania. Currently, she is planning course revisions on Performance and the Creative Transformation of Conflict, which will be taught at Juniata College in the spring 2013 semester. She is working with Jim Skelly, new director of the Baker Peace Center at Juniata to develop a focus on creative transformation of conflict. In April, Polly hosted a film screening of “Acting Together on the World Stage” and post-screening conversation at Juniata College with Cindy Cohen, Prof. Celia Cook-Huffman, and Kate Clarke, head of Juniata Theatre Program. She also will be hosting a screening of the documentary during the Peace and Justice Studies Conference in Boston in October, where she will also be speaking on the topic of Indigenous knowledge and climate change.

Walker is looking for funding to support a Spanish translation of the Acting Together anthology.

Additionally, Walker will be attending the workshop, “Facilitating Encounters through Art: A workshop for artists working in zones of violent conflict” at Brandeis University in September. She is also planning to attend the IPRA Japan Conference 2012 in November.
