She is especially interested in exploring how public policy affects development issues in economies, through programs like conditional cash transfers, compulsory schooling, and environmental regulations. Her research agenda spans analyzing key issues relating to public policies implemented in both low and high-income countries, intra-household investment in human capital, understanding education gaps, gender and racial inequalities, and environmental protection. Before joining Brandeis, she taught at Franklin & Marshall College, and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Temple University.
