Degrees

University of Chicago, Ph.D.
National Autonomous University of Mexico, B.S.

Expertise

Biophysics of Cells and Tissues

Profile

My research merges cell and developmental biology with fluid mechanics and active matter to understand how flows are built by arrays of cilia. By studying a variety of multiciliated cells and organisms we aim to elucidate the biophysical mechanisms that link cytoskeletal patterning, cilia patterning and flow generation.
