Eric Nierenberg, Ph.D. serves as Senior Investment Officer and Director of Hedge Funds and Low Volatility Strategies for the Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Management Board (MassPRIM), where he oversees approximately $6 billion in investments. Prior to joining MassPRIM in 2012, Eric was an equity portfolio manager at Lee Munder Capital Group and Independence Investments.

Eric teaches graduate level courses in Behavioral Finance & Economics, Options & Derivatives, and International Portfolio Management. He received the 2013 "Excellence in Teaching Award" at IBS.

Eric chairs the Investment Committee at The Sage School in Foxborough, MA, where he also sits on the Board of Trustees. He has volunteered his time through Harvard Business School Community Action Partners and the Worcester Regional Airport Commission.

Eric received his Ph.D. in Business Economics from Harvard University, and also earned his M.A. degree in Economics from Harvard. Eric graduated from Harvard with an A.B. degree in Economics, magna cum laude, and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
