You are invited to submit a proposal for a Fine Arts Department zine project!!

Students are invited to participate by submitting a proposal for a 8.5" x 5.5" (folded letter size page), 12 pages long zine edition. Students can work digitally or on paper in order to produce the pages to be reproduced at the Brandeis Copy Center. Up to 15 proposals will be selected and awarded up to $50 in Copy Center credits.

Zines have roots in informal, underground publications that focus on social and political activism but they can also be an aesthetic experience. Your zine can be about anything you choose, made up from original or appropriated texts and images, made individually or by a small group of people. Your zine can be mostly text or only images, handmade or digitally created, using paints or collage. You dictate what your zine is and what it is going to look like.

By sending a submission, students agree to make an edition of ten copies and donate two for the Fine Arts department and to participate in the zine exhibition at the end of the semester.

Deadline for proposal is Oct. 11, the zine must be executed by Dec. 6th. Exhibition will take place on Dec. 8th.

Proposal submission form:  (Make sure you include a brief description of your idea and a sketch or two.)
