Each year, the Gender and Sexuality Center sponsors a number of signature events designed to engage, educate and cultivate the LGBTQIA+ community at Brandeis. These include:
A fun way to fight the winter doldrums, the annual drag show features unforgettable performances by members of Brandeis' LGBTQIA+ community. Props are provided! Typically held in February or March.
Lavender Graduation celebrates the accomplishments and contributions of LGBTQIA+ graduating seniors and graduate students during commencement weekend in May. Open to all Brandeis allies, students, staff, faculty, alumni and parents.
Sex and Sexualities Symposium Research Conference
Showcases students’ academic research in areas of gender, sex and sexuality, with a particular emphasis on the intersectionality between the LGBTQIA+ community and other aspects of personal identity. Typically held in March.
Trans* Awareness Week
Celebrates and promotes awareness of transgender and gender-queer identities with a number of social, educational and community-building events. Typically held in November.
