Gene has held a variety of high-stakes leadership positions in diverse industries through crisis periods and great successes that uniquely positions her for cross sector education, innovation, and leadership.

Earlier in her career, she was part of the founding management team of an award winning, innovative not for profit, FUEL Education (Inversant) serving as its founding COO and later its Executive Director. She was one of eight outside Trustees for Newton-Wellesley Hospital, which navigated the Hospital during and out of a particularly difficult era and was Executive Vice President for the impressive turnaround of Sterling Bank.

Gene has a significant background of corporate and not for profit board service. She currently is a Board Member of the Planning Office Of Urban Affairs, is Treasurer of The Clipper Ship Foundation Board and Governor Baker recently appointed her to the Board of Commonwealth Corporation.
