Paul Deng

Paul Deng, Asia-Pacific FellowPaul Deng is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Copenhagen Business School in Denmark. He obtained his PhD in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis IBS in 2009.  Prior to Brandeis, he also obtained a master's degree in economics from Baylor University in Texas and a bachelor's degree from Zhengzhou Institute of Aeronautics in China. 

Paul was an active participant of the former Asian lunch seminar series at Brandeis IBS.  His main research interest lies in the intersection of international economics, macroeconomics and finance, with a special focus on China.  Over the past few years, in conjunction with Gary Jefferson, he has written about China's FDI and economic growth, technology and innovation as well as regional productivity convergence.  He continues to closely monitor trends in the Chinese economy.

Albert Hu

Albert Hu, Asia-Pacific FellowAlbert Guangzhou Hu is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics, National University of Singapore. He received a BA in international finance from Nankai University, PRC and a PhD in international economics from Brandeis IBS. His research interests entail the economics of technological change and intellectual property rights in East Asian economies, particularly in relation to the Chinese economy. His current research focuses on technological innovation in Chinese industry, intellectual property rights and economic development, and the use of patent citations to trace international knowledge diffusion. He has also consulted for the Asian Development Bank, the World Intellectual Property Organization and the World Bank.

Jian Su

Jian Su, Asia-Pacific FellowJian Su is a specialist on macroeconomics and China's macroeconomy. He is Deputy Head of the Economics Department at the School of Economics at Peking University, China, and Managing Editor of China Economy.

He teaches Advanced Macroeconomics, Intermediate Macroeconomics, and Principles of Economics. His research focuses on macroeconomic theory, China's macroeconomic policy, and China's economic transition, especially the reform of China's state-owned enterprises.

Xin Wang
Xin Wang, Professor at Brandeis International Business SchoolXin Wang is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Brandeis IBS. Her research interests include e-commerce, pricing and learning models. She is currently working on projects that examine cross-category purchase behavior of Chinese consumers and competition dynamics of foreign brands in China.  Her research has been published in top-tier academic journals such as Marketing Science, Quantitative Marketing and Economics, Economic Journal, Marketing Letters and Journal of Retailing.  Prior to joining Brandeis IBS, Professor Wang was a faculty member of the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University. She earned her Master’s and Doctoral degrees from the Tepper School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University.
