Transfer Pricing & Valuation

Students in the MSF Transfer Pricing and Valuation concentration receive multidisciplinary training in accounting, statistics, econometrics, financial modeling and corporate finance. They graduate with an understanding of inter-company pricing, tax planning, financial accounting and valuation.

Careers in Transfer Pricing and Valuation

Most companies with international operations seek the skill set that this concentration provides. Alumni have taken on roles including analyst and transfer pricing associate at PwC, Deloitte, Ernst & Young and NERA Economic Consulting.

Faculty Spotlight: Brenda Anderson

Professor Brenda Anderson teaches at the International Business School and the Heller School. She has worked as an auditor for KPMG Peat Marwick and is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Connecticut. Her research focuses on behavioral issues in accounting, with an emphasis on the human information processing aspects of professional auditor judgment.

She has published in journals including the International Journal of Auditing; Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory; Behavioral Research in Accounting; and the Journal of the American Taxation Association.

Concentration Requirements

The MSF Transfer Pricing and Valuation concentration requires the completion of 18 credits.

  • ECON/FIN 250a: Forecasting in Finance and Economics (2 credits)
  • FIN 216f: Financial Statement Analysis (2 credits)
  • FIN 218f: Portfolio Financial Modeling (2 credits)
  • FIN 231f: Private Equity (2 credits)
  • FIN 232a: Mergers and Acquisitions (4 credits)
  • FIN 242f: Credit Risk Analysis I (2 credits)
Group 3: 4 credits maximum
  • BUS 212a: Analyzing Big Data II (4 credits)
  • BUS 235f: Real Estate Fundamentals (2 credits)
  • BUS 278f: Corporate Governance (2 credits)
  • FIN 225f: Real Estate Finance (2 credits)
  • FIN 254a: Modern Finance, FinTech and Beyond (4 credits)
  • BUS 297a: Approved Internship in Transfer Pricing (2 credits)
