State Street CEO Jay Hooley to receive Brandeis IBS' 2014 Perlmutter Award for Excellence in Global Business Leadership

February 11, 2014

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Brandeis University International Business School (IBS) will award State Street CEO Jay Hooley with its 2014 Perlmutter Award for Excellence in Global Business Leadership at an event with business leaders, faculty and students on February 11, 2014.

“As a business school with a global reach that attracts students from around the world seeking to make an impact across borders and cultures, it is a privilege to bring Jay Hooley to our campus so we can learn from his extraordinary experience and leadership,” said Brandeis IBS Dean Bruce Magid. “Jay exemplifies the essence of what we care about – that you can do well in business and do good for society.”

“I am honored to be the recipient of the Brandeis International Business School’s Perlmutter award,” said Hooley. “Brandeis clearly shares our perspective that companies must act globally to remain competitive in today’s market. At State Street, we are committed to having a local presence in key markets around the world to ensure we are poised to anticipate the needs of our clients, wherever they may be.”

As a part of his visit to campus, Mr. Hooley will speak to students to share his perspectives on the global economy both now and for the future. The visit is particularly meaningful given the school's global approach to all aspects of its programming, including its curriculum, institutes and faculty thought leadership. Brandeis IBS attracts students from more than 60 countries.

The Perlmutter Award for Excellence in Global Business Leadership is given to a highly select group of individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership worldwide. It particularly honors those whose careers in business, finance, government, and related fields embody the values promoted by the Perlmutter Institute for Global Business Leadership – a vision that transcends national borders and embraces the highest levels of professionalism and a commitment to the global community and its prosperity.  Last year’s recipient was Stanley Berman, CEO and Chairman of Henry Schein, Inc.
